Wokingham Borough Safer Communities Partnership (SCP)

The Wokingham Borough Safer Communities Partnership (SCP) brings together organisations that have a responsibility to work together to keep Wokingham safe. Partners include Wokingham Borough Council, Thames Valley Police, the Police & Crime Commissioner, Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service, local NHS organisations, the National Probation Service and others.

By working together, partners agree shared priorities, develop joint approaches and take coordinated action to address community safety and safeguarding concerns.

All SCP work is:

  • trauma‑informed – recognising the impact of trauma and aiming to avoid causing further harm
  • person‑centred – focusing on people’s strengths, choices and individual needs, and
  • problem‑solving – using clear, evidence‑based approaches to understand issues and agree effective responses

This section sets out the five key SCP themes, explains how partners work together in each area, and provides guidance for professionals on how to respond to concerns and report them appropriately.
